This week students are learning about immigration events and policy changes throughout Canadian history. We will watch some historical newscasts and dissect them, asking what the reporters are doing in each newscast (answering the 5 W's and 1 H). Then we'll break into pairs and read a Canadian immigration timeline.
Students will be assigned one event to research and create their own newscast. They'll have 3-4 periods to research the event, prepare the newscast, and then present it to the class (either live or pre-recorded).
